Commitment
Going into the field to understand, document and act, rather than speaking from afar.
Faced with the environmental and climate upheavals transforming our planet, we are convinced that we need to reinvent how we raise awareness and share knowledge. Adventure is, for us, a powerful vehicle for communication and education.
Through our expeditions, stories, films, talks and publications, we want to share an authentic experience from the field. Our projects make it possible to address issues linked to the environment, polar regions and remote territories, while transmitting values of commitment, respect for nature, pushing one’s limits, and cooperation.
Going into the field to understand, document and act, rather than speaking from afar.
Exploring fragile territories with rigor, humility and a genuine concern for preservation.
Adventure as a school of resilience, lucidity and presence in the world.
Bringing explorers, scientists, artists and the public together around a shared transmission.
Merlin
80° North
In 2023, the first project carried by Life Expeditions came to life: 80 Degrees North. This first adventure laid the foundations of the association and of its will to make expedition a tool for transmission.
The expedition also led to the publication of a photographic book and a documentary tracing the project and the territories crossed.
See the expedition
In 2024, Olav Bleffert joined the team for a Greenland crossing. That experience notably gave rise to a book published by OptikControl.
The same year, Life Expeditions also developed its first educational workshops, with the will to bring adventure closer to the public and to younger generations.

Nicolas
Harold
In 2025, Nicolas Sanchez joined the adventure for the Pyramiden expedition, organised by Merlin Cerise alongside Olav Bleffert and Gaël Loicq. After that experience, Nicolas became a full member of Life Expeditions.
That same year, Merlin Cerise met Harold Sorel at Lecomte Alpinisme & Randonnée, an emblematic outdoor shop in Belgium. A meeting that marked the beginning of a collaboration and a shared vision around adventure and wild territories.
Vice-president
In 2026, Harold Sorel completed a north-to-south crossing of Iceland, alone and unsupported, in the heart of winter.
The same year, Life Expeditions took a new step with the Svalbard Axis expedition. For 24 days, Merlin Cerise, Nicolas Sanchez and Gaël Loicq travelled the wild territories of Spitsbergen as part of a committed polar expedition. From that adventure was born the documentary film Projet Svalbard Axis, directed by Jean-Simon Gérard, bearing witness to the human experience and the realities encountered in the field.
Following these adventures, Harold Sorel officially joined the board of Life Expeditions and became vice-president of the association, now taking an active part in its development and future projects.
See our expeditionsLife Expeditions continues to grow through new expedition projects, the production of films and educational content, the organisation of workshops and talks, and the creation of new collaborations.
Our team keeps growing, carried by the same conviction: adventure can be much more than a personal experience. It can become a tool for transmission, awareness and inspiration for future generations.
Life Expeditions is, above all, a collective adventure, in service of discovery, the environment and transmission.
